Job Title: Software Engineer in Irving, Texas

Astek Solutions, Inc. is seeking the position(s) of Software Engineer in Irving, Texas and various, unanticipated
locations throughout the United States. An application for permanent alien labor certification is being filed in
connection with the aforementioned position(s), with the following duties:

Align the data engineering roadmap with business objectives and analytics/ML initiatives; Evaluate and recommend
emerging data technologies to maintain a competitive edge; Ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data
architecture across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments; Lead multiple data engineering teams (ETL, data
platform, streaming, analytics engineering); Recruit, mentor, and retain top data engineering talent; Define team
structure, roles, and responsibilities, ensuring efficiency and collaboration; Conduct performance reviews, career
growth planning, and skill development for engineers; Approve and review data architecture designs, ensuring best
practices in reliability, security, and performance; Oversee pipeline design, data modeling, and storage solutions (data
lakes, warehouses, lakehouses); Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met (GDPR, CCPA,
HIPAA, etc.); Evaluate vendor tools and platforms to optimize data operations and cloud spend; Partner with Data
Science, Analytics, Product, and Business teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions; Serve
as the bridge between technical teams and executive leadership; Communicate data capabilities, limitations, and
initiatives to stakeholders and executives; Define data engineering KPIs (pipeline reliability, latency, uptime, cost
efficiency); Involved in development of specifications for technical deliverables; Involved in unit testing and
preparing the test case documents; Involved in working towards performance tuning of SQL and MDX queries,
transformations, sources, sessions, and mappings (both in Netezza and Informatica); Involved in extracting data from
cubes using MDX queries through SQL Server Management Studio; Use of Agile Methodology, Java, Kafka, GIT,
SQL, Oracle, AWS, Java Script, and JIRA. Position may require travel.

Offered Salary: $135,992 annually.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
Master’s Degree or foreign equiv. in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:
Six months of experience in the position offered or a related position.

Special Requirements:
The aforementioned six months of experience must include:
Agile Methodology, Java, Kafka, GIT, SQL, Oracle, AWS, Java Script, and JIRA.
